Question
My grandson has recently had hives appear. They did get a new kitten about 1 month ago. Could it be the kitten or possibly another exposure? He also went to a new baby sitter on the day the hives errupted for the first time. He continues to have the hives now even though he isn't going the baby sitter anymore.
Answer
hives can appear from thirty minutes to 48 hours after exposure, so I doubt it's the kitten, or he would have had the hives a lot sooner. That he still has them suggests that it is something he is being exposed to currently, hives don't last much more than a week unless the exposure is ongoing. Permalink:
